Job Summary
Join our dedicated nursing team at St. Joseph Hospital in Bangor, Maine, as a Registered Nurse specializing in Cardiac Progressive Care. This role involves providing high-quality patient care within a dynamic Med-Surg Adult and Cardiology setting, specifically focusing on patients requiring advanced cardiac monitoring and intervention.
Working under the supervision of a Unit Director and Clinical Leader/Charge Nurse, you will be responsible for comprehensive patient care functions, adhering strictly to the standards set by the State of Maine Board of Nursing and hospital policies. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to a collaborative healthcare environment, ensuring optimal patient outcomes for our diverse adult population.
This is a 13-week travel assignment, ideal for experienced RNs seeking to make a significant impact while advancing their clinical skills in a supportive hospital setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct and comprehensive nursing care to adult patients in the Cardiac Progressive Care Unit, Med-Surg, and Cardiology specialties.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans in accordance with physician orders and established nursing protocols.
- Administer medications, perform treatments, and monitor patient responses, with a particular focus on cardiac rhythms and hemodynamic stability.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, interdisciplinary team members, and support staff to ensure coordinated patient care.
- Maintain accurate and thorough electronic health records, documenting all aspects of patient care, observations, and interventions.
- Educate patients and their families on health conditions, treatment plans, and self-care strategies to promote recovery and well-being.
- Respond to emergent situations and provide critical care interventions as needed.
