Registered Nurse, Med-Surg Ortho
Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week contract assignment on a 24-bed Medical-Surgical unit specializing in Neuro/Ortho care. This position is located in Lawton, Oklahoma.
The successful candidate will provide comprehensive nursing care to a diverse patient population with neurological and orthopedic conditions. The unit maintains a patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:5, ensuring focused and quality patient care.
This role offers an opportunity to work within a dynamic team environment, utilizing advanced clinical skills to manage complex patient cases and contribute to positive patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care for patients with neuro/ortho conditions.
Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, monitoring for effectiveness and adverse reactions.
Perform comprehensive patient assessments, interpret diagnostic data, and report changes in patient status to the healthcare team.
Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and revise individualized care plans.
Educate patients and their families on disease processes, medication management, and discharge instructions.
Maintain accurate and thorough electronic health records.
Ensure a safe and therapeutic environment for patients and staff.
Required Qualifications
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
Minimum of 1-2 years of recent experience in an acute care Med-Surg setting, with demonstrated experience in Neuro/Ortho specialties.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
