Registered Nurse - Med-Surg/Peds
Job Summary
This role is for a dedicated Registered Nurse at a 24-bed Critical Access Hospital located in Viroqua, Wisconsin. The facility serves a rural community, providing essential healthcare services to a diverse patient population.
The successful candidate will deliver comprehensive nursing care to adult and pediatric patients across medical-surgical and orthopedic specialties. This position offers an opportunity to work within a close-knit team environment, contributing significantly to patient outcomes in a critical access setting.
Key Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care to adult and pediatric patients on a medical-surgical unit.
Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, monitoring patient responses and documenting observations.
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
Document patient status, interventions, and outcomes accurately and timely in the electronic health record.
Educate patients and their families on health conditions, medications, and discharge instructions.
Required Qualifications
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Wisconsin.
Minimum of Not specified years of experience as a Registered Nurse.
Clinical experience in Med-Surg Adult, Med-Surg Peds, and Med-Surg Ortho settings.
Ability to adapt to a rural, critical access hospital environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in Orthopedic nursing.
Experience in Cardiac nursing.
Experience in Pediatric nursing.
Experience with telemetry monitoring.
Proficiency with Epic Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
Skills & Competencies
Proficient in medical-surgical nursing care for adult and pediatric populations.
Strong assessment, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Familiarity with electronic health record systems, preferably Epic.
Competency in telemetry monitoring.

Shift Duration: 12 hours
Days per Week: 3
Schedule: Every weekend rotation
Hours: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM
Contract Length: 12 weeks
