Registered Nurse - Observation/Telemetry
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week travel assignment in Zanesville, Ohio. This role primarily supports our 1S Observation unit, which focuses on patients requiring close monitoring and assessment before admission or discharge.
The successful candidate will provide comprehensive nursing care to a diverse patient population, including those with cardiac, respiratory, and neurological conditions. This position requires strong telemetry interpretation skills and the ability to float to various Med-Surg units (Respiratory, Stroke, Cardiac) and potentially the Emergency Department (ED) based on facility needs and individual competency.
This is a fast-paced environment requiring exceptional clinical judgment, adaptability, and proven proficiency with Epic EMR from day one.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, for patients on the Observation unit and other assigned Med-Surg units.
- Accurately monitor, interpret, and document cardiac rhythms (Telemetry/BCRA).
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring patient safety and adherence to protocols.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, advanced practice providers, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to optimize patient outcomes.
- Educate patients and their families on health conditions, treatment plans, and discharge instructions.
- Maintain accurate and timely electronic health records using Epic EMR.
- Respond to emergent situations and provide appropriate interventions.
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Minimum of three (3) years of current and recent acute care Telemetry experience.
- Demonstrated proficiency in reading and interpreting Telemetry/BCRA rhythms (competency testing required on day one).
- Current and proven proficiency with Epic EMR system; no refresher training or 1:1 support will be provided.
- Ability to float to various Med-Surg units (e.g., Respiratory, Stroke, Cardiac) and potentially the Emergency Department (ED) as needed.

Shift Details
- Shift Type: Day Shift (AM)
- Hours: 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM (12-hour shifts)
- Days per Week: 3 days per week (36 hours/week)
- Weekend Rotation: Every other weekend required.
- Call Requirements: Very rare occurrence.
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Available Start Dates: August 17, 2026, or September 21, 2026.
Licensing Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Ohio.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
