Must-Have:
Must have 2+ years of ER nursing experience.
Must have 1+ year of trauma experience.
Must have prior travel nursing experience.
Must have EPIC experience.
Must be comfortable providing culturally competent care to a highly diverse patient population.
Description:
The facility is not accepting any candidates with license hits related to diverting medications or endangerment.
Candidates with such hits will face immediate contract cancellation.
Travelers will not perform triage unless they have completed additional orientation and competency testing.
The unit consists of a 55-bed emergency department with an additional 8-12 swing beds and 4 trauma bays.
Patient-to-nurse ratios are 4:1 in the main emergency department, 5:1 in accelerated care, and 2:1 in critical care areas.
Common patient diagnoses include STEMI, stroke, DKA, sepsis, trauma, respiratory diseases, and behavioral health issues.
Registered Nurses manage their own long holds if necessary.
The department features a separate triage area and dedicated psych/seclusion rooms, as well as in-house security.
Emergency nursing staff includes Charge Nurses, resource nurses, triage nurses, and protocol nurses.
Transport of critical patients is the responsibility of Registered Nurses, who also perform blood draws alongside medical support staff.
Weekend shifts are required every other week, and holiday shifts are mandatory.
All shifts are variable with a heavy emphasis on evenings and overnights.
