The emergency department operates with a staffing ratio of 1:4-5. Weekend requirements include every other weekend and holidays. Travelers will not float between units. No on-call shifts required. Block scheduling is not accommodated. The facility is a trauma level 1 teaching hospital with 228 staffed beds. Charting is performed using Cerner Sorian 1st generation. Required certifications include ACLS, BLS, and TNCC. Candidates must have experience managing central lines and interpreting dysrhythmias. The patient population includes adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. Daily census ranges from 129 to 160 patients. The unit supports interdisciplinary teams, including physical therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy. Candidates must possess experience in triage and starting and maintaining IVs.
