Job Title: Emergency Room Nurse

Unit notes include pre-screening recommendations.
Candidates will be required to undergo a specific exam prior to acceptance.
Travel teams must have their own vehicles.
Candidates must have natural hair color and no facial piercings.
Men must be clean-shaven for fit testing.
A pass/fail exam will take place on the first day of orientation.
All Registered Nurses will be expected to complete a skills lab focused on Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes.
It is crucial that nurses maintain a sterile field during procedures.
Candidates indicating incompetence in required areas may not be a good fit.
In addition to the skills lab, educational sessions on lifts, restraints, and wound care will be provided.
The unit typically manages multiple trauma cases and pediatric transfers.
The emergency department handles a significant patient volume annually, with numerous admissions daily.
The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4.
Charting is conducted using a specific electronic medical record system.
The nurse unit operates continuously, with support staff available around the clock.
Common diagnoses include trauma, burns, and various pediatric cases.
Additional patient care requirements may include handling psychiatric holds.
Weekend shifts are part of the scheduling expectations.
All candidates must possess the required certifications to be considered.
Shifts are subject to cancellation in accordance with established policy.
