Description:
The staff Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility for a group of patients for a designated time frame.
This role provides care to patients through the utilization of the nursing process, nursing trends, and technology.
The RN maintains up-to-date and accurate documentation of nursing care provided to ensure the integration of information for use by the healthcare team.
The nurse completes initial assessments upon patient admission and develops appropriate plans of care based on patient and family needs.
They implement the plan of care and nursing interventions while continuously evaluating and modifying the care plan.
The RN takes responsibility for patient and employee safety by reporting and/or correcting safety hazards and incidents.
Communication is essential, and the RN communicates with others directly and in private when necessary to resolve issues.
Offering constructive feedback to peers assists in their professional development and expands the nurse's knowledge base.
The RN identifies their own learning needs and takes the initiative to begin appropriate solutions.
Fulfilling all requirements of departmental competencies is essential.
The RN implements procedures and theories specific to Emergency Department nursing.
This includes performing patient assessments and developing care plans in collaboration with providers, families, and patients.
The execution of the plan of care and nursing interventions is crucial.
Effective communication and collaboration with staff, visitors, and families promote a healthy and healing work environment.
The RN maintains accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation.
EPIC experience is required, and trauma level 2 or higher experience is preferred.
TNCC certification is highly preferred.
