Key Responsibilities of the Emergency Department Registered Nurse- Deliver high quality, compassionate care to patients and families
- Assess patient needs and prioritize urgent or emergent care
- Provide direct care and apply appropriate interventions
- Utilize invasive and non-invasive procedures and treatments
- Establish rapport with patients and families and address comfort needs
- Conduct primary and secondary assessments of patient needs
- Encourage team collaboration for optimal patient outcomes
- Prepare patients and families for diagnostic procedures and educate post-emergency care
- Focus on creating a healing environment and keeping patients informed throughout the ER visit
Requirements of the Emergency Department Registered Nurse- BLS, ACLS, PALS, Stroke Certification (Must be AHA or RQI)
- Two years of acute hospital experience as an RN
- One year of ED hospital experience as an RN
- NYS RN License
