Provide direct patient care in a 20-bed Emergency Department with a standard nurse-to-patient ratio of 4:1 (up to 6:1 for low-acuity ESI 4 & 5 patients)
Operate and monitor specialized equipment including Lucas devices, Level 1 fluid warmers, Alaris IV pumps, iStat, EPOC, and GE monitors
Utilize EPIC EMR for accurate and timely documentation of patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes
Perform unit-specific procedures including splinting and breathing treatments in addition to standard ED nursing duties
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including Charge RNs, Flow Coordinators, ED Techs, and Unit Secretaries across day, mid, and night shifts
Participate in rotating weekend scheduling as required by unit needs
Required Qualifications
Active Alaska Registered Nurse (RN) license required at time of submission
Minimum of 2 years of prior Emergency Department experience
Stroke and STEMI experience required
Current ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, NIH Stroke Scale, and ENPC certifications required
Ability to work night shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) and rotating weekends
Preferred Experience / Skills
Trauma experience in an emergency care setting
Pediatric emergency nursing experience
