Contract | Full-Time | Days | Three 12-Hour Shifts (7:00 AM–7:00 PM and 10:00 AM–10:00 PM) | Onsite
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, implement, and evaluate all levels of patient care across the age continuum from pediatric to geriatric, performing age-appropriate assessments to ensure safe and effective care delivery.
- Perform triage using the Emergency Severity Index (ESI) 5-level triage process and coordinate care needs for multiple patients simultaneously to optimize patient flow.
- Document all nursing care using medical terminology, maintaining an Emergency Department record that is medically and legally acceptable and reflective of patient responses to care.
- Monitor life support and automated technical equipment; perform routine and complex treatments including medication administration, IV insertion, administration of fluids and blood products, and emergency resuscitation protocols.
- Collaborate with providers, peers, ancillary departments, and outside agencies to deliver efficient, high-quality patient care, utilizing the chain of command and effective communication as needed.
- Assess patient and family knowledge and discharge needs, respond to crisis situations calmly and efficiently, and maintain equipment, supplies, and room readiness at the close of each shift.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum two-year degree in Nursing required.
- Must hold and maintain a valid Wisconsin Registered Nurse license or active Compact Licensure.
- Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications required.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant Emergency Room nursing experience.
- Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail required.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Four-year degree in Nursing preferred.
- ATCN certification preferred.
- Demonstrated proficiency in computerized patient documentation systems.
