Key Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care in a high-volume, Level 1 Trauma Emergency Department serving patients ranging from newborns to elderly across a wide spectrum of acuity levels
Manage and titrate a variety of critical drips including vasopressors, cardiac drips, and antihypertensive medications
Recognize and respond to life-threatening cardiac rhythms using Phillips monitoring equipment; interpret and act on telemetry independently
Collaborate with ED physicians, mid-level providers, charge nurses, respiratory therapists, and ED techs to deliver coordinated patient care
Draw and collect lab specimens as required; support care of boarder patients and coordinate with ancillary departments
Care for stabilized trauma patients transferred from the trauma bay to a pod setting, as directed by the specialized trauma team
Required Qualifications
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois, or confirmation that the application process has been initiated
Current BLS and ACLS certifications
Current ENPC or PALS certification
Current TNCC or TNS certification
Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, with at least 1 prior travel assignment
Proficiency with vasopressor and cardiac drip titration and management of critically ill patients
Preferred Experience / Skills
SANE RN experience
Prior experience working in a teaching hospital environment with resident physicians
Familiarity with Phillips telemetry monitoring systems
