Registered Nurse (RN) – Emergency Room

Contract | Full-Time | Onsite | Mid Shift (start times ranging from 10a–3p) | 12-Hour Shifts | Every Other Weekend Required
Key Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care in a high-volume, Level 1 Trauma Emergency Department serving patients ranging from newborns to elderly across all acuity levels, including critically ill, stroke, cardiac arrest, and trauma patients
Titrate and manage a wide variety of drips including vasopressors, cardiac drips, and antihypertensive medications
Monitor, interpret, and act on cardiac rhythms including life-threatening arrhythmias using Philips monitoring equipment
Draw and collect laboratory specimens as needed in collaboration with ED technicians
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including ED physicians, mid-level providers, charge nurses, ED techs, respiratory therapists, and a 24/7 house supervisor
Adhere to department scheduling requirements including every other weekend rotation and holiday coverage based on department needs
Required Qualifications
Active Illinois RN license (or confirmation that the application process has been initiated)
Current BLS and ACLS certifications
Current ENPC or PALS certification
Current TNCC or TNS certification
Minimum of 2 years of RN experience with at least 1 prior travel assignment
Proficiency in vasopressor drip titration and management of critical care patients in an emergency setting
Preferred Experience / Skills
SANE RN experience
Prior experience working in a teaching hospital environment with resident physicians
Familiarity with trauma bay protocols and stabilized trauma patient care
