Contract | Days | Every other weekend required | Holiday coverage required in November/December

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a high-volume Emergency Department seeing approximately 170–200 patients per day, with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:3 (1:4 for low acuity)
• Manage a diverse patient population including cardiac, stroke, sepsis, DKA, altered mental status, respiratory, abdominal pain, and mental health presentations
• Work within a 56-bed ED (expandable to 60–70+ with hall beds) that includes a Fast Track area, separate triage, a dedicated holding area, and a locked psychiatric hall
• Collaborate with ED physicians, mid-level providers, charge nurses, house supervisors, ED techs, and CNAs to deliver coordinated patient care
• Utilize Epic EMR for documentation; perform or coordinate nurse/ED tech blood draws, EKG interpretation support, and patient transport coordination with the adjacent radiology department
• Manage ER holds as assigned, with inpatient RNs floating to the ED to support inpatient hold assignments as needed

Required Qualifications

• Active Washington State RN license or valid Compact RN license
• ACLS certification required
• BLS certification required
• TNCC certification required
• PALS or ENPC certification required
• Minimum 1 year of Emergency Room experience in a larger trauma setting

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience working in a trauma center environment with high patient volumes
• Familiarity with telemetry monitoring and strip reading
• Experience with triage processes; travelers may be considered for triage assignments following a triage competency assessment
• Comfort working alongside respiratory therapy teams managing vents, CPAP, BiPAP, high-flow oxygen, and ABGs
