Registered Nurse – Emergency Room

Contract | Rotating Shifts | Onsite | Every Other Weekend Required | Holiday coverage required in November and December
Key Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care in a high-volume Emergency Department seeing approximately 170–200 patients per day across a 56-bed department with additional hall beds
Manage a patient assignment of 1:3 acuity-based ratios (up to 1:4 for low acuity), including care for ED holds in a designated 18-bed holding area within the department
Care for a diverse patient population including cardiac, stroke, sepsis, DKA, altered mental status, respiratory, abdominal pain, and mental health presentations
Collaborate with ED physicians, mid-level providers, charge nurses, ED techs, and CNAs to deliver coordinated patient care
Utilize Epic EMR for documentation and patient management throughout the shift
Support triage processes as assigned; participate in department orientation including compliance training and department-specific onboarding
Required Qualifications
Active Washington State RN license or valid Compact RN license
Minimum 1 year of Emergency Room experience in a larger trauma setting
Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
TNCC required
PALS or ENPC required
Proficiency with Epic EMR
Preferred Experience / Skills
Experience working in a trauma center environment with high patient volumes
Familiarity with triage workflows and triage assessment processes
Experience managing ED holds and coordinating with inpatient nursing staff
