Utilize the nursing process to perform direct patient care activities for all age groups, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
Monitor and coordinate patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize patient care and comfort
Evaluate the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers and maintain professional accountability
Coordinate patient care in conjunction with other departments while maintaining patient rights and confidentiality
Function within the scope of nursing preparation and consistent with established guidelines of nursing practice and the Missouri Nurse Practice Act
Perform physical patient care tasks including lifting, pushing, and transporting patients on stretchers and in wheelchairs
Required Qualifications
Current RN license; must meet eligibility criteria for licensure in the state of Missouri or currently hold Missouri licensure
Minimum 1 year of Emergency Department experience in a Level 1 Trauma facility, or minimum 2 years in a Level 2 Trauma facility; experience level must be indicated on resume
BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications from the American Heart Association (AHA) only
TNCC certification required
NIHSS certification required prior to start (submissions accepted without, but must be obtained before assignment begins)
Flu vaccination or approved exemption required November 1 through April 1; declinations are not accepted
Preferred Experience / Skills
Experience with trauma and pediatric patient populations
High-acuity experience in a high-volume environment (200+ patients per day)
Proficiency with EPIC EMR
Determined, decisive, and flexible personality well-suited for a busy urban trauma center environment
