Endoscopy RN / Endoscopy Tech – MultiCare

Schedule

• Shift: 8-hour variable shifts
• Shift timings: 6:30 AM–3:00 PM, 7:30 AM–4:00 PM, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM, or 9:00 AM–6:00 PM
• Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours/week
• Contract: 14 weeks
• Weekend Call: Every 3rd weekend
• Weekday Call: One overnight call shift per week, 7:00 PM–7:00 AM
• Call Response Time: 15 minutes
• Holiday Requirement: 2 of 4 major holidays
• Orientation: 1 week
• Approved RTO: December 21–27
• First-Time Travelers: Not accepted; manager approval required
• Distance Requirement: Must live more than 100 miles from the facility

Responsibilities

• Assist with upper and lower GI endoscopy procedures.
• Support advanced procedures, including EUS, EBUS, ERCP, EGD, colonoscopy, and stenting.
• Provide pre-op and post-procedure recovery support, including Phase I and Phase II PACU.
• Handle scope processing and equipment preparation.
• Work with the EPIC system, ION robotic bronchoscopy equipment, Omnicell, and Alaris.
• Float to Pre-Op, PACU, or the floor as needed. When floated outside perioperative services, staff will serve as helping hands.
• Main OR floating as a primary RN is not required.

Required Documents & Certifications

For RN:

• Updated resume
• South Dakota RN license
• BLS certification
• ACLS certification
• Nursing education credentials and other facility-required compliance documents

For Endoscopy Tech:

• Updated resume highlighting endoscopy experience
• BLS certification
• High school diploma or GED
• Accredited program completion preferred
• Other facility-required competency and compliance documents

Requirements

RN:

• Minimum 2 years of experience
• Level I or Level II trauma experience required
• Experience with advanced endoscopy procedures, including EUS, EBUS, and ERCP
• BLS and ACLS required

Endoscopy Tech:

• Minimum 1 year of experience
• Must be comfortable with advanced endoscopy procedures, including EUS, EBUS, ERCP, stenting, and interventional GI procedures
• Must be able to process scopes and rotate between departmental duties

Facility & Unit Details

• Department: Endoscopy
• Unit Capacity: 4 endoscopy rooms, 20 Pre-Op bays, and 14 PACU bays
• Staffing: Endoscopy RN/Tech team of 6, with anesthesia provided for 100% of sedation
• Patient Ratios:
  • Endoscopy: 1:1
  • Pre-Op: 1:2
  • PACU Phase I: 1:1 or 1:2, depending on acuity
  • PACU Phase II: 1:2–3
• EMR: EPIC
• Scrubs: Provided
• Parking: Free
• Low Census: Travelers may volunteer for unpaid low-census time
• Return Policy: Former permanent staff must wait one full year before returning as a traveler
