Key Responsibilities of the Travel Endoscopy Registered Nurse:
Assist physicians during endoscopic and other GI diagnostic or therapeutic procedures
Prepare and maintain the sterile field, instruments, and endoscopy equipment
Monitor patients before, during, and after sedation, ensuring safety and comfort
Administer medications and monitor vital signs according to clinical protocol
Provide pre- and post-procedure education and discharge instructions to patients and families
Accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient responses in EMR systems
Collaborate with physicians, technicians, and anesthesia staff to ensure efficient workflow
Requirements of the Travel Endoscopy Registered Nurse:
Active RN license (Massachusetts or compact state)
BLS certification required
Minimum of 2 years of recent Endoscopy or GI Lab RN experience in an acute or outpatient setting
Strong knowledge of conscious sedation, infection control, and patient monitoring practices
