Travel Nurse RN - Hospice - $1,951 per week in Abilene, TX

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Hospice Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years of hospice experience required License: Current Registered Nurse license, current Driver's License Certifications: BLS Must-Have: - Outpatient hospice experience Description: Mon - Thursday, 5 PM to 8 AM with call from 10 PM to 8 AM. Call is shared between 2 RNs each night. RNs may receive triage calls or make visits. The candidate must have outpatient hospice experience. The candidate must hold a valid RN license and BLS certification. A current Driver's License is also required. This position provides end-of-life care to patients. Primarily serves adult patients, but may include pediatric cases. Includes hospice referrals and admissions. The role involves multiple skills, including pain assessment and management. Candidates should be knowledgeable in advanced directives and family education. Experience with pain scales and medication tolerance is valuable. Candidates must be versatile and capable of handling various patient needs. Positioning and preventive care for pressure ulcers are necessary skills. Proper disposal of medications must be ensured. Collaboration with interdisciplinary teams is encouraged.
