Travel Nurse RN - Hospice - $2,186 per week in Newport News, VA

Job Title: Home Hospice Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Hospice Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8 hours (08:00 - 16:30) Experience: Minimum of 1 year in home hospice License: Active RN license required Certifications: - ACLS - BLS - PALS Must-Have: - Home hospice experience required Description: Provide direct patient care in a home hospice setting. Conduct intake assessments and interviews with patients and families. Administer prescribed medications and monitor patient tolerance. Support patients and families with death/dying counseling and education. Perform pain assessments and implement pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic interventions. Facilitate goal setting with patients and families. Provide education and support on advanced directives and cultural awareness. Manage symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, and constipation/diarrhea. Perform postmortem care as needed. Demonstrate skills in positioning, preventing pressure ulcers, and proper medication disposal. Take part in care coordination with interdisciplinary teams as needed. Maintain documentation in the designated charting system. Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations related to hospice care.
