Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse for the Cardio Vascular ICU who will provide comprehensive nursing care to patients with complex cardiovascular conditions.

Responsibilities:

• Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, multi-system organ failure, and thermoregulation.
• Care for post cardiac surgery patients, not directly from the OR.
• Pre/Post Cardiac Cath/intervention, and monitoring of Pulmonary Artery Line/Swan Ganz.
• Manage patients with Valve Replacement/Repair, LVAD/RVAD, CVVHD/CRRT.
• Administer IV therapy including accessing ports and central line management.
• Administer medications, handle continuous IV paralytics, sedation, and emergency cardiac drips.
• CVA/Acute Stroke Management, care of ventilated patients, and infection prevention.

Requirements:

• 3 years of CV ICU experience; must pass an EKG test.
• Active IL license, CPR, ACLS, and NIHSS certification.
• Proficient in Epic Electronic Health Records (EHR).
• Ability to float to Glenbrook MICU, Evanston ICU, or Highland Park ICU as needed.
• Preferred charge experience.
• Submit updated resume and CV ICU skills checklist within the last year.
• Provide CV reference from a supervisor within the last year and submit an EKG test with a passing score of 80% or above.
