Travel ICU Registered Nurse Job Details

  • Contract Duration: 13 weeks
  • Weekly Hours: 36 hours
  • Shift Duration: 12-hour rotating shifts
  • Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,770–$1,860
  • Start Date: 10/12/2026
  • Weekend Coverage: Required
  • Floating: MICU, SICU, Neuro ICU, CVICU, CVSICU, IMC, and ED/PACU for ICU/IMC boarders
  • Orientation: 28 hours

ICU Nurse Job Requirements

  • Active Registered Nurse license for Washington, DC required at time of submission
  • Minimum of 2 years of recent ICU experience required
  • At least 1 previous travel nurse assignment required
  • ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
  • Experience with Cerner preferred
  • Strong background in critical care nursing procedures and management of ventilated, hemodynamically unstable, and neurologically complex patients
  • Must be comfortable with rotating assignments across ICU and intermediate care settings
  • Flu vaccination required; COVID-19 vaccination not required
  • Ability to provide 2 supervisory references, including one from the most recent assignment

Critical Care RN Responsibilities

  • Deliver safe, high-quality nursing care to critically ill patients in a fast-paced ICU environment
  • Float across multiple intensive care and intermediate care units based on staffing needs
  • Monitor and respond to changes in patient condition, collaborating closely with the interdisciplinary care team
  • Perform advanced ICU nursing interventions, including management of vents, drips, lines, and other critical care therapies
  • Support patients with neurological, surgical, medical, trauma, and thoracic diagnoses
  • Maintain strong alarm management and team-oriented communication at all times
  • Document accurately and efficiently in accordance with unit standards
  • Follow all compliance, onboarding, and module completion requirements prior to start
