Job Summary:
The ICU Medical Nurse Practitioner position is based in Anchorage, Alaska. This role involves providing specialized intensive care to adult patients within a magnet-designated facility with a level II trauma designation. The position offers an opportunity to work in a premier healthcare environment focused on advanced patient care and clinical excellence.
Job Details:
- Position: Intensive Care Unit Medical (ICU) Nurse
- Location: Anchorage, Alaska
- Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Start Date: 08/17/2026
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
- Required Qualifications: 2 years of ICU experience, Alaska RN license (must be in hand for auto-offer), valid state license (pending license accepted but must be in hand for auto-offer)
- Skills: Arterial line management, assist with chest tube insertion/removal, BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, care of ventilated patients, central line care/management, neuro ICU skills, trauma management, intubation, and other advanced critical care procedures
- Patient Ratios: 2 patients per shift during nights
- Additional Information: Night shift requires working 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year). Candidates must be willing to float within scope to meet facility needs. No local candidates accepted; minimum 50 miles from the facility. Candidates must provide 2 references covering at least 1 year within the last 3 years.
- Other Conditions: Assignment length is 13 weeks with an ASAP start; rotation may include float to similar units as needed.
