Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Self-scheduling in 6-week blocks, balanced and reviewed by manager
• High weekend need, particularly Sundays - manager will discuss during phone interview
• Rotate holidays with permanent staff
• No on-call or standby requirement
• Floating may be required between 4th, 5th, or 6th floors (critical care) or to the ER for patient holds
• Mixed ICU unit (Medical and Cardiovascular) - 24 beds on the 4th Floor
• Patient ratios: 1:1 or 1:2 for ICU level acuity, 1:3-4 for PCU level acuity
• Common diagnoses include sepsis, COPD, pneumonia, withdrawal, strokes post TNK administration, and post cardiac arrest patients
• Experience with CRRT, IABP, Impella, PA catheters, Arctic Sun, and immediate open heart recovery required
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• Specialty skills preferred: management of Swans, Prismaflex CRRT, IABP, and immediate open heart recovery
• Required to titrate drips including all ICU drips, sedation, vasoactive medications, and paralytics
• Required to set up, manage, interpret monitors, and measure and interpret own telemetry strips
• Charge nurse and resource nurse available on every shift, charge nurse is patient-load free
• CNA support available at 1:12 ratio
• In-house intensivist and dedicated pharmacist available 24/7
• Respiratory therapy dedicated to ICU 24/7 with full equipment including CPAP, BiPAP, and ventilators
• Charting system: EPIC - candidates with EPIC experience within the last year may test out of training modules
• Professional color scrubs required
• Required certifications: WA or Compact License, BLS, ACLS, NIHSS; CRRN and PCCN preferred
• Driver's license required at time of submittal
• BSN not required
• Flexible, team player mentality strongly preferred

This acute care facility operates a 24-bed mixed ICU handling both medical and cardiovascular patients across multiple critical care floors. The unit is supported by in-house intensivists and dedicated pharmacists, with respiratory therapy available around the clock. The organization maintains high acuity standards and utilizes EPIC as its charting system, providing comprehensive resources to support complex patient care needs.
