Travel Nurse RN - Intensive Care Unit (ICU) / Critical Care - $1,858 per week in Winston Salem, NC

# Job Opportunity – Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse – North CarolinaStart Date: September 21, 2026Location: Winston Salem, North CarolinaCompensation: Details provided to qualified applicantsSchedule: 12-hour night shifts, 36 or 48 hours per week available, every other weekend required, 1:3-4 patient ratioHighlights:

• ICU stepdown unit operating with critical care acuity requiring strong vasoactive drip and arterial line experience
• 20-bed progressive care unit with 18 average daily census treating post-rapid response patients, respiratory distress, hemodynamic instability, post-surgical cases, and complex medical conditions
• Epic charting system with Pyxis medication management and bedside telemetry monitoring
• Contract length of 13 weeks or longer available through February 27, 2027
• Floating only to sister ICCU unit as needed; comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
• Patient population includes adolescents, adults, and geriatrics with diverse diagnoses including GI bleeds, withdrawal management, post-operative care, and pre/post OB complications

Requirements:

• Active RN license in North Carolina or Compact state license
• Minimum 2 years of progressive care, stepdown, or ICU nursing experience required
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIH Stroke Scale certifications required
• Proven experience with arterial line management and titrating vasoactive drips (Levophed, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Cardizem, Nitro, Precedex, Cardene)
• Strong telemetry experience with ability to interpret and manage dysrhythmias independently
• Proficiency with critical care equipment including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, tracheostomy management, and high-flow nasal cannula
• Experience with IV starts, central line care, PICC line management, blood product administration, IV insulin protocols, and heparin protocols
• Must pass EKG competency testing prior to assignment start
• First-time travelers accepted; local candidates welcome
• Completion of pre-start online modules (8-10 hours) required using Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge
