Job Title: Overflow ICU Float Pool RN

Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience required. One previous travel assignment preferred.
License: Must have a valid nursing license.
Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS required.
Must-Have:
Travel experience required.
Preferred experience with a charting system.
Preferred previous charge experience.
Description:
This position is for critical care float pool nurses.
Nurses may be assigned to any ICU/IMC areas and to cover any ICU/IMC boarders.
Rotating shifts of 36/48 hours.
Weekend and holiday coverage will be required as needed.
Candidates will require skills in accessing/managing ports and administration of chemotherapy.
Additional skills needed include arterial line management and assisting with chest tube insertion/removal.
Experience with BiPAP/CPAP management and blood product administration is necessary.
Candidates should be proficient in the care of ventilated patients and central line care/management.
Knowledge of chronic/acute renal failure management is essential.
Candidates should also possess skills in managing continuous IV paralytics and IV sedation.
Expertise in CVA/acute stroke management and various forms of monitoring (e.g., CVVHD, CRRT) is needed.
Familiarity with emergency medications and external ventricular drain (EVD) management is required.
Knowledge of hypothermia protocol and ICP monitoring will be beneficial.
Candidates must adhere to infection prevention practices and be able to interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs).
Interpretation of dysrhythmias and isolation precautions/PPE are necessary skills.
IV insulin protocol management is a must.
Candidates should be experienced in managing patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure.
Proficiency in obtaining 12 lead EKG/ECG and phlebotomy skills are required.
PICC line management and post-craniotomy management are essential responsibilities.
Candidates will need to administer and monitor procedural sedation.
Experience with pulmonary artery line/Swan Ganz monitoring is preferred.
Skills should include starting and maintaining IVs and suctioning (ETT, NT).
Candidates must be able to titrate cardiac drips and manage traumatic brain injury.
