Candidates must have flexibility in scheduling with no self-scheduling available.
Every other weekend commitment is required.
Epic documentation proficiency is mandatory.
The unit comprises 18 beds with patient-to-nurse ratios of 1:2, occasionally 1:1.
Successful candidates typically possess 3 or more years of experience and have worked in a busy hospital setting in the past.
Common diagnoses include heart failure, STEMI, pulmonary emboli, and arrhythmias.
There is a charge nurse on each shift, although the goal is to have them free, which is not always achieved.

Registered Nurses are required to troubleshoot ventilators and intervene in emergency situations, such as self-extubations or trach dislodgments.
Competence in suctioning and identifying issues requiring escalation is necessary.
Registered Nurses are responsible for interpreting their own telemetry strips.
Self-scheduling is used to fill available shifts.
Weekend requirements include every other weekend, with occasional exceptions.
Holidays are typically covered, but working the days before and after may be necessary.
There is no call or standby requirement.
Scrub color is teal tops and bottoms, with solid or coordinated non-terrycloth jackets.
There will be two 12-hour shifts designated for unit-specific orientation.
