Must-Have:
Needs to have two years of ICU experience.
Ability to manage Swans, IABP, and Impella.
Able to float to MedSurg and take a full assignment.
Must be able to advocate for their own skill set appropriately.
Must titrate drips in Critical Care and PCU units.
Must be able to read tele strips.
Description:
This position involves floating to various units as required.
Common units included are ICU, MedSurg, ED Boarders, and Observation.
Patient ratios are typically 1:1 or 1:2 in ICU, and 1:3 to 1:6 in other units.
A variety of diagnoses and patient types may be encountered depending on the assigned unit.
The role includes the potential for overtime if desired.
There are weekend and holiday requirements, with a need to work every other weekend or more frequently.
Units are assigned through staffing calls about 30 to 60 minutes prior to shift start.
Professional scrubs or business casual attire is required for trainings.
All staff must be able to read telemetry strips and function effectively with RT equipment such as vents, CPAP, and BiPAP.
Charting is conducted using an electronic system.
A charge nurse or house supervisor is present on each unit.
Support staff may be available depending on unit staffing.
Company reserves the right to cancel up to four shifts during the 13-week assignment.
