Obtain and record initial patient assessments, establish care priorities based on age, symptoms, and psychosocial needs, and reassess patients systematically to identify trends requiring intervention.
Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized, measurable plans of care consistent with nursing standards, modifying plans based on patient outcomes and clinical findings.
Make comprehensive nursing decisions based on interpretation of clinical facts and patient evaluations; perform Point of Care testing procedures as required.
Coordinate team assignments and delegate unit work appropriately, following up on delegated tasks to ensure quality and completeness of patient care.
Participate in patient and family health education and discharge planning, implementing and documenting timely interventions appropriate to patient needs.
Promote a positive, professional work environment; serve as a resource to staff, physicians, and visitors while supporting unit growth, organizational goals, and continuous service improvement.
Required Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited Registered Nursing program.
Current New Mexico RN license or current Compact state license.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certification from the AHA.
Current Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) Certification.
Minimum of 1 year of experience in a critical care or ICU setting.
Preferred Experience / Skills
Current knowledge and clinical skills appropriate to the age and type of patient population served in a critical care environment.
Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and concisely, adapting communication style to the developmental age of the patient.
Experience with floating to additional units or locations as needed.
