Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse (RN) – Progressive Care Unit – Alaska

Start Date: September 15, 2026
Location: Anchorage, Alaska
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM, 13-week assignment, every other weekend required (4 weekend shifts per month), 3:1 patient ratio

Highlights:

• High-acuity progressive care stepdown unit with 19 beds serving patients requiring intensive monitoring and complex interventions
• Work with advanced equipment including bedside monitors, Alaris IV pumps, BiPap, heated high-flow oxygen, chest tubes, tracheostomy care, and surgical drains
• EPIC electronic medical records system
• Collaborative team environment with 1 charge RN and 6 staff RNs per shift
• Opportunity to manage titratable drips including dopamine, dobutamine, nitroglycerin, cardene, ketamine, heparin, Cardizem, and amiodarone
• Exposure to emergent cardioversion and CIWA assessments for alcohol/drug withdrawal treatment

Requirements:

• Active Alaska RN license (permanent license required at time of submission; temporary licenses not accepted)
• Minimum 1 year of stepdown ICU/IMC/PCU experience required
• Minimum 1 year of telemetry/cardiac monitoring experience required
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIH Stroke Scale certifications required
• Alaska RN fingerprinting must be completed during onboarding to be cleared for work
• Experience with tracheostomy patients requiring continuous BiPap/long-term vent support preferred
• Experience with titratable drips and CIWA assessments preferred
