Job Title

Registered Nurse – IMC/PCU/Stepdown (Float Pool)

Colorado Springs, CO (Zone-Based Float – up to 60-mile radius)

Contract | Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Onsite | Full-Time

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care across multiple PCU/IMC units within a regional float zone covering a 60-mile radius, including facilities serving General, Cardiac, Neuro, Oncology, Renal, Ortho, Trauma, ED Obs, and other specialty populations
  • Titrate and manage cardiac drips and infusions including dopamine, dobutamine, cardizem, amiodarone, ativan, insulin, and heparin
  • Care for adult and geriatric patients with diagnoses including cardiac conditions, neurological disorders, post-surgical recovery, oncology, renal/urology, gynecology, psych/detox, and general medicine
  • Maintain nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:3–4 based on patient acuity; work alongside designated charge nurses and nurse aides
  • Adapt to two scheduling formats: facility-specific weekly assignments or Just-In-Time (JIT) assignments communicated 1–2 hours before shift start
  • Fulfill weekend requirements (6–9 shifts per 6-week schedule) and participate in holiday rotation as needed
Required Qualifications
  • Active RN licensure in the state of Colorado (or compact eligibility)
  • Minimum 2 years of PCU/IMC/Stepdown experience
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
  • Demonstrated experience managing cardiac drips, insulin, ativan, and heparin infusions, including titration
  • Ability and willingness to float to multiple facilities within the assigned 60-mile zone throughout the duration of the assignment
  • Must be present in-state for the full week of orientation, even if initial modules are completed remotely
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Prior experience in a neuro nursing environment
  • Familiarity with Epic electronic health records system
  • Experience working with RT equipment including vents, CPAP, and BiPAP
