Provide direct patient care in an Intermediate Care/Stepdown unit specializing in cardiology, cardiovascular surgery, and cardiothoracic surgery patients
Manage a patient ratio of 4:1, adjusting based on acuity per safe staffing matrix guidelines
Care for patients with diagnoses including CHF exacerbation, dysrhythmias (Afib/Aflutter, SVT, V-tach), pacemaker management, hemo/pneumothorax, and pre/post-operative cardiothoracic surgery patients (CABG, femoral bypass, thoracotomy, VATS, CEA)
Monitor and manage patients requiring or recovering from Cath Lab procedures including STEMI/NSTEMI and coronary artery disease
Accurately document all patient care activities using Epic electronic health records
Float within scope to meet facility needs, including to sister facilities as required
Required Qualifications
Current and valid RN license (no pending licenses accepted)
Minimum of 2 years of IMC/MS Stepdown experience with cardiology, cardiovascular surgery, and cardiothoracic surgery patient populations
Current BLS and ACLS certifications
Completed EKG Course and/or Telemetry competency test
NIHSS certification required
Experience maintaining a 4:1 patient ratio in an IMC or stepdown setting
Preferred Experience / Skills
Familiarity with Epic electronic health records charting system
Experience caring for patients with temporary or external pacemakers, symptomatic/asymptomatic bradycardia, and complex dysrhythmias
Prior travel nursing experience in a cardiology or cardiothoracic stepdown environment
