Contract | Full-Time | Onsite | Night Shift | 12-Hour Shifts | 36–48 Hours Guaranteed per Week | Every 3rd Weekend | Every Other Holiday
Key Responsibilities
Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessments, develop and implement individualized plans of care, and evaluate treatment effectiveness in a 10-bed Observation Unit setting.
Perform neurological assessments including NIHSS for patients with neurological concerns and monitor patients requiring cardiac and neuro observation.
Administer medications and treatments as ordered, monitoring for side effects and ensuring safe medication practices consistent with state and facility policies.
Serve as the primary point of contact for care coordination across hospital departments, collaborating closely with physicians and the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
Educate patients and families regarding conditions, treatment plans, and discharge planning.
Accurately document patient progress, interventions, and outcomes in the electronic health record.
Required Qualifications
Current RN license in the state of practice or covered under a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC).
Minimum 1 year of RN experience required; at least 6 months in an acute care hospital setting.
BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required prior to direct patient care.
ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification required.
NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification required.
Dysrhythmia exam required prior to or upon start (study guide available).
Experience with EPIC Electronic Health Record (EHR) system preferred.
Completion of a Critical Care Course preferred.
