Description

Job Title: Registered Nurse Procedural Profession: RN Specialty: Interventional Radiology Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum experience in at least 2 specialty areas (Neuro IR, Vascular IR, General IR) preferred License: Current RN License issued by the state board of nursing or a current multistate compact RN License Certifications: Current Basic Life Support certification required upon hire; ACLS required within 6 months of hire Must-Have: - Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program - Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures - Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services - Strong verbal and written communication skills - Ability to respond effectively to cultural and language needs Description: Under general supervision, provides nursing care in specialty areas. Assumes responsibility for an assigned group of patients. Documents patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments. Notes all changes in physician orders for assigned patients. Assists physicians in the examination of patients. Aids in performing minor diagnostic procedures and treatments. Obtains and monitors physiological data of patients. Observes physiological manifestations of patients and intervenes when necessary. Administers medication as prescribed. Initiates, regulates, and monitors intravenous infusions and blood products. Delivers patient care competently. Interacts with family and patients to share care plans during hospitalization and at discharge. Oversees treatment provided by technicians or other service providers. Informs patients and families of hospital procedures. Makes referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel. Delegates tasks to support staff. Ability to work effectively as part of a team providing specialized care. May require completion of orientation and ability to function independently in assigned specialty area prior to assignment.
