Must-Have: - Peripheral vascular work - Venous Central Lines - Tube Changes - Neuro experience - Embolization work Description: The staff Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility for a group of patients for a designated time frame. The RN provides care to these patients utilizing the nursing process, trends, technology, and resources within the institution's philosophy. Responsibilities include performing all duties required by the unit specific to the scope of service. The RN implements procedures and theories related to the specific area of practice. Maintaining up-to-date and accurate documentation of nursing care provided is essential to assure the integration of information for the healthcare team. The RN completes initial assessments upon patient admission and develops appropriate plans of care based on patient and family needs. The RN implements plans of care, nursing interventions, and patient care procedures. The RN modifies the plan of care based on continuous evaluation. The RN takes responsibility for patient and employee safety by reporting and/or correcting safety hazards and incidents. Communication with others directly and in private when necessary to resolve issues is an important duty. Offering constructive feedback assists in the professional development of peers. The RN confers with colleagues to expand knowledge and identifies their own learning needs to take initiative to seek appropriate solutions. Fulfilling all departmental competencies is required. Department-specific job functions include administering medications necessary for procedures and managing care of patients during moderate sedation. Monitoring hemodynamics throughout procedures and providing outline documentation of procedure events is crucial. Understanding the use of supplies and equipment used in various procedures is necessary.
