Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) The healthcare provider is seeking an experienced Labor and Delivery (L&D) RN to provide patient care at a high-volume maternity unit. This position involves assisting with high-risk pregnancies, deliveries, postpartum management, and neonatal care in a Level II NICU setting, with a focus on maintaining patient safety and promoting positive outcomes.

Job Details:

• Location: The position is at a facility with comprehensive maternity services, including a Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), Level III perinatal care, and 19 labor and delivery beds.
• Schedule: Night shifts (12 hours), minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), and AWHONN Intermediate or Relias Fetal Monitoring. A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, certifications, and active state license are required.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience in facilities that manage 200+ deliveries, and proficiency in hospital-specific charting systems such as EPIC.
• Unit & Patient Care: The role involves staffing for high-risk perinatal care, assist in sterile exams, high-risk deliveries, postpartum care, neonatal assessments, and ambulatory care with a patient population including neonates and adults.
• Coverage & Staffing: The unit is staffed 24/7 with 3-4 delivering providers, 2 CRNAs, 3 CNAs in postpartum, surgical techs, and health unit coordinators. Triage is managed by 3 skilled RNs per shift, with dedicated OR and PACU support.
• Additional Responsibilities: Ensuring adherence to clinical protocols, performing procedures such as epidurals, cesarean sections, fetal monitoring, and neonatal resuscitation. Candidates must be flexible for call and holiday coverage.
• Travel & Compliance: At least one year of travel experience may be preferred. Must be eligible to work in the state with a valid license and meet all travel compliance requirements.
• Submission Requirements: Candidates must respond to previous work at a Providence facility, provide two recent references, and be willing to float between sister facilities if needed. All required certifications and experience must be verified prior to start.
