Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor and Delivery position requiring a DC RN license, BLS, ACLS, NRP, and Intermediate Fetal Monitoring certification.

Details

  • Work in a hospital Labor and Delivery setting
  • Care for pregnant patients from 17 weeks gestation through delivery, including scheduled and unscheduled procedures
  • Patient population includes laboring patients, scheduled C-sections, external cephalic versions, cerclage, and triage issues
  • Responsibilities include admissions, discharges, transfers, pre-op, and deliveries (vaginal and C-section)
  • Work three 12-hour night shifts per week
  • On-call one shift per week is required
  • Uses fetal monitors and documents in Cerner and Fetalink EMR systems

Requirements

  • Active DC RN license required
  • BLS, ACLS, and NRP (AHA only) certifications required
  • Intermediate AWHONN Electronic Fetal Monitoring certification required
  • Mandated CPI certification
  • At least two years of L&D nursing experience in a US hospital required
  • Must have SSN for consideration
  • At least two manager or supervisor references verifying recent experience are preferred
  • Must live more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted

Additional Information

  • Provide care for a range of labor and delivery procedures and triage
  • Contribute to admissions, pre-operative preparations, deliveries, and post-op care
  • Night shift position with rotating on-call duties
  • Scrubs or dress code details not specified
