Job Summary:
The Labor and Delivery registered nurse position is based in Dallas, Texas. This role involves providing high-risk obstetrical care within a dedicated Women's Hospital unit, focusing on labor and delivery services. The nurse will be responsible for caring for high-acuity patients, performing various procedures such as vaginal deliveries and cesarean sections, and adhering to unit protocols and standards.

Job Details:

  • Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), AWHONN (Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses) advanced fetal monitoring certification, NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) required in submission packet
  • Education and Experience: At least 2 years of high-risk labor and delivery care experience, with a minimum of 0 years minimum experience required
  • Location: Dallas, Texas, 7777 Forest Lane
  • Shift Details: 12-hour day shifts, working approximately 48 hours per week, with a rotating schedule that may include weekends and an as-needed floating policy to antepartum units
  • Staffing and Unit Information:
    • Unit: Labor and Delivery within a high-risk obstetrical unit
    • Bed Count: 24 beds
    • Patient Ratios: 2:1 and 3:1 OBED triage ratios, 1:1 for unstable patients, early labor 2:1
    • Procedures: Vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, D&C, post-delivery recovery care
  • Responsibilities include circulating in cesarean sections, recovering high-acuity patients, and following hospital-specific dress code including neat hair and covering tattoos when possible.
  • Float: Float rotation may be required as needed.
