Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Valid state license required Certifications: BCLS, ACLS, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate or Relias Fetal Monitoring Must-Have: Previous experience in high-risk perinatal care Description: The position is for a registered nurse specializing in labor and delivery. This is a night shift position requiring 12-hour shifts. The nurse will be responsible for providing care to high-risk perinatal patients. Weekly staffing will include support from certified nursing assistants and allied health professionals. There will be a requirement to float between labor and delivery and postpartum units as needed. Candidate must have experience with administration of critical medications and interventions. The nursing staff will maintain a focus on couplet care in the postpartum setting. Communication and collaboration with the interdisciplinary team will be essential. The unit will handle a significant volume of deliveries, ideally with experience in facilities that conduct 200 or more deliveries annually. The registered nurse will participate in educating families regarding postpartum care and newborn assessments. Teamwork and flexibility are crucial as the environment will require managing multiple births, including high-risk cases. Documentation will be completed in the electronic health record system. Certification in advanced fetal monitoring is a requirement for consideration.
