Travel Nurse RN - Labor & Delivery - $2,565 per week in Silverdale, WA

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty: Birthing Center - Mother Baby - Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-Hour Nights Hours per Shift: 36 hours per week Experience: 2 years License: Required Certifications: BLS, NRP Must-Have: Must have LDRP experience. Must be comfortable attending deliveries independently and circulating in C-sections. Must be comfortable assisting with catching and transitioning the baby. Description: This position requires working in a Birthing Center specializing in Labor and Delivery. The unit averages 170-190 births a month and has a total of 13 L&D beds. There are two surgical suites designated for C-sections and 14 postpartum beds in the facility. The nurse-to-patient ratio follows AWHONN guidelines, requiring a 1:2 ratio for Labor and Delivery and a 1:3-4 ratio for couplets. Experience with high-risk pregnancies, including conditions such as preeclampsia, diabetes, and mental health issues, is essential. RNs are required to titrate drips, including magnesium, Pitocin, and insulin. Charge nurses do not take assignments during their shifts. There's a surgical tech and a patient care assistant available 24/7 on the unit. An OB anesthesiologist and an in-house neonatologist are present around the clock to assist with emergencies and patient triage. All staff must be adaptable to the workflows, policies, and procedures of the unit. Traveling nurses will also need to function in Postpartum with routine mom and baby competencies. Shifts are scheduled in blocks, allowing for some flexibility. Weekend requirements include night shifts on Fridays and Saturdays. Floating is not required outside of the department, except for Mother Baby and Postpartum units. Nurses are provided scrubs and a locker for personal items. The unit follows a cancellation policy that permits a limited number of shifts to be canceled during an assignment. The charting system utilized is EPIC.
