Travel Nurse RN - Labor & Delivery - $2,568 per week in Silverdale, WA

Job Title: Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery Profession: Nursing Specialty: Birthing Center - Mother Baby, Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12 Hour Nights Hours per Shift: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience required License: Valid nursing license required Certifications: BLS, NRP preferred; intermediate or advanced FHM preferred Must-Have: LDRP experience required Comfortable attending deliveries independently and circulating in C-sections Able to assist with catching baby and transitioning baby Experience in high-risk pregnancies, including preeclampsia, diabetes, and psych/social issues Description: This position requires a Registered Nurse specializing in Labor and Delivery. The unit averages 170-190 births per month. A total of 13 L&D beds and 2 OR suites are available for C-sections. There are 2 triage beds and 14 postpartum beds. Nurses are expected to follow AWHONN guidelines for ratios: 1:2 in L&D, 1:3-4 for couplets. RNs will be required to titrate drips for magnesium, Pitocin, and insulin. Charge nurses do not take an assignment and operate free charge on both shifts. There is one surgical tech available 24/7, along with a patient care assistant on each shift. OB/GYN and NNP services are provided in-house 24/7, with support for triaging patients and emergency cases. Anesthesia is also available 24/7. Equipment such as vents, CPAP, and BiPAP is typically assigned to the family birth area. There are Tele/Monitor Techs available for monitoring. RNs are required to read their own strips using an established EFM system. Block scheduling is available upon request. Weekend requirements include working Friday and Saturday nights. Holidays will be rotated in with permanent staff. Response time for standby shifts is limited to 45 minutes. Nurses are expected to float within the mother-baby and postpartum units but will not float to NICU or outside the department. Scrubs are provided, and lockers are available for personal belongings. Unit-specific orientation will include training on systems and procedures. Travelers should be open and adaptable to workflows, policies, procedures, and feedback. This role may involve cancellation of shifts according to established policies. Charting will be conducted using an established electronic health record system. Work environment is within acute care settings.
