Description:
Position available for a Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse.
Looking for candidates who can work 4x12-hour night shifts, with the option for 3x12 shifts.
Ratios are 1:1 in the labor and delivery setting.
Candidates must have experience with childbearing women and newborns, covering antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and newborn care.
This facility serves a high-risk population with many complex cases.
Candidates are expected to assist with deliveries and have experience with various labor and delivery procedures.
Experience with breastfeeding support and lactation assistance is valuable.
Candidates must be knowledgeable in fetal heart monitoring and recognizing abnormal fetal heart rate patterns.
Responsibilities include administration of medications, monitoring maternal and fetal health, and providing education to families.
Candidates should have experience working with high-risk patients and be comfortable in a high-acuity environment.
C-sections are performed in the facility, and nurses will need to be proficient in circulating these procedures.
The unit supports labor in collaboration with ICU staff when necessary.
Preferred candidates will have experience in maternal-fetal medicine or similar high-acuity settings.
Candidates should be committed to providing high-quality patient care and support during labor and delivery.
Weekend shifts are required, and candidates must be prepared for a demanding workload involving multiple births per month.
The unit has a robust support staff, including interdisciplinary services.
