Contract (13 or 26 Weeks) | Nights | 3x12 or 4x12 | 19:00–07:30 | Every Other Weekend Required | Expected 60 hours per two-week period (traveler may be called off for one 12-hour shift per two-week period)
Key Responsibilities
Provide direct nursing care to Labor & Delivery patients in a high-risk OB unit, including patients undergoing inductions and high-risk antepartum care
Regularly function in the Charge Nurse role, overseeing unit operations and staff coordination during night shifts
Manage patient care across OB Triage, LDR rooms, OR suites, and PACU in a high-volume environment averaging up to 14 patients daily
Float to like units within the facility or affiliate locations as needed to meet patient care demands
Document patient care accurately using Epic electronic health records
Participate in holiday coverage, with an expectation to work two of the three major holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's
Required Qualifications
Active Alaska RN license (pending license accepted for submission; license must be in hand prior to offer finalization — estimated 10–12 weeks processing time)
Charge Nurse experience required; facility may consider candidates willing to train in the Charge Nurse role
Minimum 1 year of Labor & Delivery RN experience
Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate, and AWHONN Advanced
Hepatitis B vaccine required; titers and declinations are not accepted
2 references covering at least 1 year of experience (within the last 3 years) required prior to start
Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
Preferred Experience / Skills
Prior experience with high-risk OB populations, including antepartum and triage patients
Familiarity with Epic charting system
Experience working in a Magnet-designated or teaching hospital environment
