Key Responsibilities
- Obtain and record initial patient assessments, establishing care priorities based on patient age, symptoms, and psychosocial needs.
- Reassess patients systematically to identify progress and trends requiring clinical intervention.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized, measurable plans of care in accordance with nursing standards.
- Make comprehensive nursing decisions based on interpretation of clinical findings and patient outcomes, modifying care plans as needed.
- Participate in patient and family health education and discharge planning.
- Perform Point of Care testing procedures and document timely, appropriate interventions.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Registered Nursing program.
- Current New Mexico RN license or current Compact state RN license.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from the AHA.
- Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
- Current knowledge and skills appropriate to the age and type of patient population served in an LDRP setting.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Two or more years of experience as a Registered Nurse in a Labor, Delivery, Recovery, or Postpartum setting.
- National professional nursing certification relevant to the clinical area.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Master of Science in Nursing (MSN).
