Registered Nurse – Labor and Delivery

Schedule / Job Type
Contract | Full-Time | Onsite | 12-Hour Day or Night Shifts (7:00 AM–7:00 PM or 7:00 PM–7:00 AM) | Every Other Weekend Required
Key Responsibilities
Provide direct nursing care to laboring patients in a 14-bed L&D unit with 6 triage beds and 2 OR suites, following AWHONN fetal monitoring guidelines at a 2:1 laboring ratio
Circulate for C-sections as required; scrubbing experience is preferred
Care for postpartum couplets in a 28-bed unit at a 1:4 couplet care ratio, including high-risk patients such as those with pre-eclampsia, insulin-dependent diabetes, substance use, and antepartum conditions across any gestational age
Utilize Fetal Link fetal monitoring system and Cerner EMR for documentation and patient management
Float to postpartum as needed; postpartum nurses are not required to float to L&D
Collaborate with OB technicians, charge nurses, respiratory therapy, and pharmacy available 24/7 to support patient care
Required Qualifications
Active RN licensure in California (or compact eligibility)
Current BLS certification
Current ACLS certification
AWHONN Advanced Fetal Heart Monitoring certification (required for L&D)
NRP certification (required for Postpartum)
C-section circulating experience
Preferred Experience / Skills
C-section scrubbing experience
Experience with Cerner EMR and Fetal Link fetal monitoring systems
Experience managing high-risk obstetric patients including antepartum, pre-eclampsia, and substance use populations
