Job Title: Charge Nurse RN Profession: Nursing Specialty: Long Term Care Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Varied day and evening shifts Hours per Shift: 40 Experience: Minimum 1 year License: RN License Required Certifications: IV Therapy Certification Preferred Must-Have: Knowledge of medications and their side effects Description: We are looking for a Charge Nurse RN for our Long Term Care team. In this role, you will provide general nursing care to residents. You will contribute to overall resident care guided by the resident care plan and facility policies. You will directly supervise Nursing Assistants. Make nursing assessments regarding the health status of the residents. Develop a plan of care based on assessment and nursing diagnosis. Implement nursing care and evaluate responses to nursing interventions. Make provisions for outside physician visits to ensure residents' medical needs are met. Demonstrate effective communication with physicians and family members to ensure resident needs are met. Perform teaching to residents, families, and staff to ensure understanding of the residents' plan of care. Understand, promote, and implement resident rights. Prepare, administer, and chart routine and emergency medication and treatment as ordered. Ensure clinical records reflect accurate and timely documentation to ensure continuity and quality of resident care. Perform safety and infection control procedures to ensure a safe and clean environment for residents and staff. As a member of the interdisciplinary team, participate in the Quality Management program to ensure appropriate standards of care are met. Function as the primary contact person on assigned shift. Effectively supervise resident assistants to ensure compliance with the plan of care. Demonstrate knowledge, skills, and ability in IV therapy to include initiating IVs and administration of initial medication.
