Job Summary:
Medical Surgical Floor Registered Nurse (RN) position in Austin, Texas. This contract role involves providing patient care on a busy surgical unit, supporting a variety of procedures including neurosurgeries, bariatric surgeries, and general surgeries. The position requires flexibility and strong time management skills to ensure high-quality patient outcomes during night shifts.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Night shift, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Licensure as a registered nurse, at least 4 years of clinical experience, with acute care experience in medical-surgical settings, and must be authorized to work in the United States.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Meditech charting, advanced procedural skills such as NGT tube placement, IV management, and familiarity with unit-specific equipment like traction and wound vacs.
• Float: Float rotation may be required.
• Additional Information: The unit has 32 beds and a staffing team of approximately 50 staff members, including charge nurses, nurses, and patient care technicians. The unit uses Meditech electronic health records and emphasizes team collaboration and efficient patient management. Dress code includes navy blue scrubs, with a focus on professional appearance and adherence to unit policies.
