Job Summary:
Medical Surgical Floor Nurse in Olympia, Washington. This role involves providing care to a diverse patient population, including long length of stay and acute medical patients. The position emphasizes flexibility in floating between units within the scope of practice, with a focus on delivering quality patient care in a short-term acute care setting.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: 3x12 Days shifts, starting as soon as possible, with minimum of 36 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications: BLS certification; 1 year of experience in medical-surgical nursing; valid Washington state nursing license; experience with charting in EPIC system; comfortable managing patients with complex needs including dementia, autism, behavior issues, and long length of stay patients
  • Preferred Qualifications: Community hospital experience; LTAC experience; trauma level II experience
  • Float: Float to medical-surgical units to meet department needs, within scope, will not be required to float mid-shift
  • Additional Information: This unit cares for adults and geriatrics, with a daily census of 18 patients. Patients may require assistance with mobility, medication administration in various forms, and behavioral management. Patients are assessed regularly, and providers evaluate long-term patients weekly. Equipment includes lifts, mobility aids, and wheelchairs.
