Responsibilities
Effectively use the nursing process in the delivery of patient care.
Assess learning needs and implement teaching strategies appropriate for the diverse needs of patients, families, and other groups or disciplines.
Communicate, delegate, and manage nursing team resources appropriately and serve as a leader and partner on the interdisciplinary team.
Effectively delegate, direct, and assist licensed and ancillary team members.
Assume accountability for quality patient outcomes and demonstrate professional responsibility for nursing practice.
Use data, information, and knowledge to evaluate and promote change to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
Adapt behavior to the specific patient population, including respecting privacy, adapting communication styles, explaining procedures, and obtaining appropriate permissions.
Demonstrate sensitivity to cultural, ethnic, and religious diversity in all interactions.
Maintain involvement in activities supporting unit and department strategic goals and objectives.
Embrace behaviors that enhance customer satisfaction, employee morale, and the nursing profession.
Remain knowledgeable of current federal, state, and local laws, accreditation standards, and regulatory requirements applicable to the assigned area.
Maintain compliance with the organization's Compliance & Privacy Program and Standards of Conduct, including reporting known or suspected unethical or questionable conduct and patient/employee safety or privacy concerns.
Perform other related duties as required.
Experience Requirements
2+ years of nursing experience required.
Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
Ability to work independently and demonstrate good judgment.
Proficiency with computers, software, and web-based applications.
Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present information clearly and professionally.
License & Certifications
Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
Clinical specialty certification preferred.
Education Requirements
Required: Registered Nurse diploma.
Preferred: Associate or Bache
