Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Orthopedics Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours (19:00 - 07:30) Experience: Minimum 2 years required License: Active nursing license required Certifications: BLS required; ACLS preferred Must-Have: - EKG exam required for all RNs regardless of specialty - Orthopedic and trauma experience required - Experience with pre-op and post-op orthopedic care Description: We are seeking a Registered Nurse for a night shift position in Orthopedics. The nurse will provide care to patients with total hip, knee, and shoulder replacements, as well as orthopedic trauma. The unit specializes in both elective and trauma patients. The nurse will have a patient ratio of 1:6, with a possible stretch to 1:7. Safe patient handling equipment will be utilized along with orthopedic equipment including CPM, knee immobilizers, and bone foam. Candidates must be flexible with scheduling. A zero-tolerance policy for tardiness and unexcused absences will be enforced. All RNs will pass a compliance EKG exam, with two attempts allowed. The nursing staff will work collaboratively with interdisciplinary support teams. Key skills include BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, and telemetry monitoring.
